THE HARDWICK AT OUTSTANDING IN THE FIELD

THE HARDWICK AT OUTSTANDING IN THE FIELD

Outstanding in the Field is a roving culinary adventure – literally a restaurant without walls. Their mission is to re-connect diners to the land and the origins of their food, and to honour the local farmers and food artisans who cultivate it.  As part of their first official trip to Europe (and their only UK date), the team is setting up camp at Trealy Farm in Monmouthshire on September 8th, close to food Mecca Abergavenny. Spoon’s favourite restaurant in Wales (Stephen Terry’s The Hardwick) are getting on board and creating a feast for those lucky to get a ticket. The group will place their sharing table near the site of the last battle between the Welsh and the English whilst The Hardwick’s kitchen team will set up a glorified camp kitchen.

Stephen’s menu will use Welsh artisan charcuterie Trealy Farm’s best produce to accompany a feast prepared with the finest ingredients of the region. And after seeing photographs on their website from previous events, we wish we were going….

Hi Alice, Thanks for the lovely post! Jim Denevan and the crew are really looking forward to visiting Wales. (And Jim’s excited to be doing some sand drawing, too.) To get a flavor of what an Outstanding in the Field event is all about, there’s a wonderful video on EatTV at http://www.eattv.com/watch/more/outstanding_in_the_field_the_roving_culinary_circus_food_video
Cheers ! Lisa & the Outstanding in the Field crew
