Dinner at Attica, Melbourne- 10th January 2012.
I waited for Attica to open.
Closed for the Christmas Summer holidays, its first night back in the saddle was Tuesday 10th January. Tuesdays are ‘trial and error’ night or more correctly titled it is the weekly appearance of “Chef’s Table Tasting menu”. Ideally to give Attica a ‘fair crack’ I should have gone back another night, but the clock was ticking. Next time. I can’t imagine that Ben would ever ‘err’ shockingly but I would like to return to experience the well honed, the tried and well-tested.
The Stand Out dish (for me) was our first course. Squid and peas. Delicate finely cubed squid melted tantalisingly whilst the fresh, raw peas gave the dish gumption.
