Modernist Cuisine is nominated for a James Beard Award and an IACP Award

We are pleased to announce that Modernist Cuisine: The Art and Science of Cooking has been nominated for two prestigious book awards.

Yesterday we heard the good news that Modernist Cuisine has received a nomination for a 2012  James Beard Award. The James Beard Awards, which are known in the US as the ‘Oscars of the Food World’, were set up by The James Beard Foundation and have been honouring outstanding contributions to food and beverage industry since 1990.

Modernist Cuisine receives a nomination in the ‘Cookbooks: Cooking from a professional point of view’ category along with The Art of Living According to Joe Beef: A Cookbook of Sorts by Jennifer May, Frédéric Morin and David McMillan and Eleven Madison Park: The Cookbook by Daniel Humm and Will Guidar

The IACP announced their Food Writing Finalists a couple of weeks ago. Modernist Cuisine received another nod in the ‘professional kitchens’ category along with · Professional Garde Manger by Lous Sackett, Jaclyn Pestka & Wayne Gieslen and The Professional Chef, 9th Edition by The Culinary Institute of America. Winners will be announced on 2nd April in New York.
