From 7th-11th May 2012 thousands of people across the UK will get sponsored to live on just £1 for food per day for 5 days to raise money and awareness for the 1.4 billion people around the world who are currently living in extreme poverty.
Live Below the Line is a food-related fundraising campaign created by the Global Poverty Project whose mission is to increase the number and effectiveness of people taking action against extreme poverty. The aim is to give a glimpse into the lives of the billions of people who have no choice but to live below the line everyday and who have to make £1 cover a lot more than just food.
In 2012, Live Below the Line is running in the UK, Australia and the USA simultaneously, with more than 20,000 people spending 5 days living below the line who have already raised close to £40, 000.
It is free to sign up and there is no minimum sponsorship target so if you think you are up to the challenge, you can create a fundraising page here.
