On the 30th June, the town that I grew up in, Sevenoaks, will play host to a boutique family festival for lovers of music, art and most importantly, food. I’ve never been before but my mum raves about it.
Honing in on the edible as is typical, I see that Chef Nicole Walshaw will be heading up the Lawnfest Food Shed using Kent based produce which I’m told has has been very responsibly farmed. On the menu – chilli con carne or veggie chilli, made with real ale and cocoa, served with corn chips, crème fresh and coriander; summer squash, spinach and sesame tart with a wild rocket salad and grilled apricot, watercress and cured gammon ciabatta. Sounds all very wholesome.
Other foodie guests include Street Kitchen who will be cooking gourmet burgers, Clipper Teas and the London Distillery Company. Violet’s Vintage Teas will also be serving a full English afternoon tea.
If you’re within striking distance of Sevenoaks and are curious to see and support an extremely interesting, dynamic and caring Specialist Independent School, further details can be found by clicking here.
