In a typically unconventional move, the team behind CHECKON are holding a pop-up within a pop-up.

“This is England”, launching on February 10th, is a Monday night pop-up that will playfully transport guests on a culinary tour around the country with dishes highlighting some of Check On’s favourite places. Diners will start their trip from front-of-house George’s ‘mum’s house’ in Helmsley, North Yorkshire for a Yorkshire pudding with onion gravy and disembark at Woodbridge Farm in Dorset for Dorset Blue Vinny cheese on toast with Dorsetshire sauce. Other stops on this magical mystery tour around England include Goosnargh for a Pressed leg of corn fed chicken with caramelised cauliflower Lancashire cheese, Port Isaac for a ‘Stargazy’ Cornish pasty, West Mersea for a Rock oyster, Maldon stout and beef cheek pie and Trinity College, Cambridge for Vanilla English cream with burnt sugar.

The culinary equivalent of a play within a play, this 5 week residency will take place at celebrated restaurateur David Moore’s latest London offering- Pieds Nus in Marylebone- itself a pop-up restaurant, operating only until mid March. Moore, responsible for Michelin starred favourites Pied a Terre and L’Autre Pied opened Pieds Nus in October 2013 and celebrates simple, fresh and natural cooking.

“I’m very excited to be working with Terry and George and to be introducing Pieds Nus’ first pop up within a pop up. It provides a great opportunity to keep pushing the culinary boundaries and add a little adventure to London’s already sophisticated culinary scene.” David Moore

This is England is a 10 course tasting menu for £30 per head. Guests will also be able to choose from Pieds Nus’ drinks list. With only 30 tickets available for each of the events, this promises to be Check On’s most exciting and exclusive supper club yet.
